Meet the Sign-Up.to team

Wondering who works at Sign-Up.to? Here's an insight into some of our team members - sporadically updated whenever we can convince someone to write their bio or we get hold of a suitably embarrassing picture!

Jesse Baker - Senior Interaction Engineer (signed-up November 2007)

Jesse Baker Now doing my second stint at Sign-Up.to, I just couldn't stay away! I'm back to enhance and update Sign-Up.to's interface and bring it bang up to date and once that's done, I'll be in charge of making sure it stays that way! I have nearly 10 years of experience working with web technologies with a focus on usability, user interface design and clean functional standards compliant mark up. Prior to Sign-up I was a web developer at a leading online games company.

I'm a pretty typical geek. In my spare time I've been known to disappear into a dark room playing the latest video game for days at a time and I always have my DS or iPhone handy for long journeys. I'm also big fan of the cinema and go almost every week.

Alex Barnes - Media Co-ordinator (signed-up February 2010)

Alex Barnes

With years of experience of design and marketing in the publishing sector I am eager to delve into Sign-Up.to's realm of online social media and digital marketing. It will be my responsibility to create, distribute and style campaigns to provide you with successful results.

When I'm not hard at work I can usually be found skateboarding, drumming, drawing or sampling the finest of English ales. I love to travel and am an avid collector of retro video games.

Leanne Beale - Account Manager (signed-up August 2009)

Leanne Beale As an Account Manager I look after several clients including Prezzo and the Economist. I also produce Sign-Up.to's support materials, which keeps me busy, but is something I really enjoy. Before Sign-Up.to, I worked in field marketing for 2 years, in the FMCG sector. I have a degree in Business Management which I received from the University of Reading in 2007.

Away from work I enjoy visiting new places (my most recent destination being Marrakech!), hearing live music and going for pub lunches. I also enjoy cooking and hope to one day win Masterchef, but for now I just try not to burn the kitchen down!

Nick Branson - Development Manager (signed-up January 2004)

Nick Branson As Development Manager I continue to nurture our applications to ensure they're inituitive and as easy to use as possible. The team and I are kept very busy creating new features and maintaining the core applications and tools.

My time at Sign-Up.to has flown by, helped by working with keen, like minded professionals, in what has to be the best working environment I've ever experienced. In fact, it's hard to actually call it work, more like a club with a purpose and a proven track record to match!

I'm also the family guy at Sign-Up.to. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my wife and our five children. Our latest arrived in August 2010, so when I'm not busy at work, I'm very busy at home!

Sophie Clark - Office & Accounts Co-ordinator (signed-up June 2007)

Sophie Clark Prior to Sign-Up.to I studied beauty and holistic therapies for two years whilst I was living back home in sunny Bournemouth. Since moving to London I've worked in retail for a year and a half, and have now decided to change my career prospects to digital marketing.

I'm responsible for showing the system to newcomers and looking after accounts for our established customers.

Rees Collins - eMarketing Consultant (signed-up November 2009)

Rees Collins I'm new to Sign-Up.to and after winning the 2009 Mr Woking competition (gurning section) they couldn't wait to add some beauty to the team. Prior to Sign-Up.to I have been working in recruitment for the last 5 years, unfortunately my company followed the general trend and I was made redundant in August 2009.

I have been drafted into Sign-Up.to to become an influential part of the sales team, focusing on new and existing business. My main aim is to use my extensive sales knowledge to build great relationships with our clients and to build Sign-Up.to to become the driving force in our industry.

I'm 34 years of age and I'm hoping that the UK laws extend the legal age of drinking to 35 as it will give me something to look forward to next year. Outside of work I enjoy pretty much any sport but mainly football which I play for two teams each week. I have a passion for stand-up comedy with which I used to do in my spare time many years ago. My main passion in life is my three year old son Tyler who has not only made me a better person but has made me stronger in all that I do.

Katie Davis - Support Assistant (signed-up March 2010)

Katie Davis To sum me up I am a country bumpkin originally from Gloucestershire in the West Country and before you ask... no, sadly I don't own a tractor. I am one of the youngest members of the Sign-Ups. My background has generally been administration within TV, Media and Theatre, so joining Digital Marketing is another box I can tick.

I joined as a complete newbie to the land of HTML and online marketing, so my time at Sign-Up.to so far has been a fantastic experience. Being trained in new areas of web technologies is all a bit daunting for me, but it is coming together slowly but surely and I am loving it at Sign-Up.to!

My key personal interests include film making, musical theatre, photography, going to gigs, playing instruments, singing and generally anything creative. I am trying to expand my knowledge in making web pages, learning about the world of marketing and hopefully getting hot on Photoshop and design.

Richard Fitzgerald - eMarketing Consultant (signed-up November 2009)

Richard Fitzgerald Before joining Sign-Up.to I studied History in the sunniest city in Scotland (Dundee). Previously I had worked as technical manager for a leading beef processor in Dorset and as such I am also trained as a beef butcher! I now join the team as an eMarketing Consultant, helping to get across the message that permission marketing is the way ahead. Life at Sign-Up.to is pretty different from the abattoir and I'm enjoying every minute.

Originally from Berkshire I naturally support Reading F.C and in my spare time enjoy socialising, history documentaries, and on saturday afternoons you can normally find me in the pub watching the weekend's football with friends.

Jo Franchetti - Junior Interaction Engineer (signed-up August 2010)

Jo Franchetti I started my foray into the online world while at University studying Electronic Engineering, but it was always the computing side that fascinated me. I taught myself web design by making sites for my family and friends and I can happily while away hours making images with Photoshop. I'm really excited about getting involved in the Sign-Up.to interactive web technology!

Out of the office I am a Nintendo fangirl who loves Japanese culture. I also love to bake and was reigning 'Pie Master' for a year in the 'LJ London Pie Off'.

Matt Huntly - Sales Manager (signed-up April 2008)

Matt Huntly Impressed with both the quality of the Sign-Up.to application and the company's ambitions, I was delighted to join Sign-Up.to back in April 2008. Focusing on developing new business and helping to build on our position in the marketplace, I have also been looking at ways in which we can improve the services we provide to ensure our clients receive cutting-edge email and mobile marketing technology.

Being from the coast I enjoy the outdoors and the sea air. I'm a keen fisherman and also like to keep fit through swimming, going to the gym and cross-country cycling. Emanating from my previous life as a chef (well okay, maybe just a couple of years whilst at school), I've a passion for food and enjoy rustling up hearty grub for friends.

Daisy Lang - Support Assistant (signed-up August 2010)

Daisy Lang Having previously heard of Sign-Up.to's stellar reputation, I am delighted to have recently joined the Support Team. My extensive experience in customer facing roles means that as a Support Assistant I work my hardest to ensure that every client gets the most from their Sign-Up.to account, however they decide to contact us.

Personally I'm into all things retro, I love to Lindy Hop (it's a type of swing dancing!) and I sing in a 50's style girl band. In total contradiction to that I also play a lot of video games and really enjoy sci-fi. I have a degree in Photography and am a truly awful cook.

Peter Lowe - Senior Application Developer (signed-up February 2009)

Peter Lowe I joined the Sign-Up.to team at the beginning of Spring 2009, having spent 11 years living in Prague. I've been involved in the Internet industry since 1996, and loved (almost!) every minute of it - so I can say with confidence that Sign-Up.to is a great company to be a part of.

As an application developer, I help implement new features into our existing suite of products. The team here really know their stuff, making it a pleasure to be involved in the many projects that are constantly in progress. I'm also an avid gamer, beer lover, and amateur food critic - so if you hear of any new places to eat in Woking, get in touch!

Andrew Matthews - Junior eMarketing Consultant (signed-up June 2010)

Andrew Matthews I'm Sign-Up.to's latest recruit and I'm ready and raring to go. My career to date has been in sales and marketing, so I loved the idea of working with Sign-Up.to. I'm settling in well and looking forward to helping to spread some permission marketing love and show people the benefits that running regular eMarketing campaigns can bring to their business.

In my spare time I enjoy socialising with friends, going to the cinema, the odd pint and of course, football. Carrying on with the family trait, I'm a Chelsea fan and get down to the Bridge as often as I can.

Matt McNeill - CEO (founder)

Matt McNeill I started Sign-Up.to after being unable to find any software that made good permission marketing possible for smaller businesses. Several years on and I'm still loving it.

As CEO I look after the strategic direction of the company as well as overseeing our marketing and, ultimately, everything that we do. I have a passion for business and love dealing with other entrepreneurs.

Out of the office, (on the rare occasions I leave) I'm a keen photographer and avid traveller.

Neil Mukerji - COO (signed-up August 2002)

Neil Mukerji I've led Sign-Up.to's operational and technical team since the company's inception in 2002. As such I oversee all systems administration, support, application direction and feature development to maintain our dynamic and user-friendly and online applications. I absolutely love working on fast moving web technology, while being surrounded by this fantastic team.

Outside of work I like a spot of car maintenance on my BMW M5, and I'll admit I'm more than a little addicted to my PS3 - founder of the Tuesday night Sign-Up.to Modern Warfare 2 clan - do let us know if you fancy a match! I'm also a keen winter hiker, summer cyclist and all year track user. Combined with our total support pledge, this means I've assisted customers while in Cornwall, Scotland, India and at the Nürburgring!

Carol Peat - Support Team Leader (signed-up August 2009)

Carol Peat As Support Team Leader I oversee the delivery of our total support promise on all channels: phone, email, live chat and face to face. My team and I are here to ensure our customers get the absolute maximum from their digital permission marketing, so my duties range from ensuring that any queries are answered as quickly as possible, to working with the development team to ensure any hard-to-use tools or handy new features are top priority.

I've gathered years of both customer service and marketing experience from previous roles, and I enjoy the challenging but rewarding combination of catching up with customers and helping them out with their online marketing. I also oversee all marketing activity for Sign-Up.to; the variety makes coming to work very enjoyable.

Outside of the office I enjoy keeping active, I'm keen to set challenges and I would love to run the marathon. I hope to have completed the three peaks before the end of the year so watch this space.

Brenden Rawson - Media Manager (signed-up July 2008)

Brenden Rawson After serving 2 and a half years with the team in the UK I am now based in Brisbane, Australia. In the past I've done graphic design for both print and web, worked extensively as an IT Officer, and provided support for large business. More recently I went back to my roots with design and marketing when I stumbled across the e-mail marketing industry, and with a move to the UK I was led neatly to Sign-Up.to's door!

While in the UK I learnt all aspects of the digital permission marketing industry and gained valuable skills from the extremely talented team. When I am not designing your emails and websites or getting you more friends on Facebook I really enjoy travelling, cooking and keeping up with the latest gadgets and technologies.

Snoop - Guard Dog (ineffective) (signed-up September 2009)

Snoop Everything here is so amazing! Working at Sign-Up.to allows me to eat, drink and sniff whenever I like, although it must be said that the best cuisine is normally to be found around Mark's desk. I am proud to be our best footballer, I particularly enjoy rifling through the contents of waste paper bins, and I just love interrupting meetings. I'm rather scared of Carol's sneezing fits - they really hurt my ears!

Outside of work I'm a pretty typical hound, sniffing and licking my way through life. At weekends I enjoy nothing more than leaping into the nearest waterway, having a good swim and wrapping up the afternoon by locating the best-dressed human to drench while I shake off. Marvellous!

Mark Taylor - Support Assistant (signed-up October 2007)

Mark I've come from a background in mobile telephone applications and I.T. Support. Since I joined Sign-Up.to in 2007 I've embarked on a steep learning curve! I'm gaining skills in web technologies and I'm being trained on the brilliant but sometimes daunting range of applications I'll be working on in the future. I'm lapping up as much HTML, PHP and MySQL as I can!

When I'm not at work I enjoy watching my favourite football team - Woking F.C., and listening to music by attending as many gigs as possible! I also love to play football, go running and enjoy building websites.

Stuart Wallace - CTO (signed-up June 2010)

Stuart

I've been involved with Sign-Up.to for a few years now, but I officially "signed up" in June 2010 when Matt McNeill offered me the position of CTO. My background is in mobile messaging and applications, most recently as Lead Engineer for the European region at Yahoo! Mobile.

I'm responsible for translating our vision into technology which can delight our customers and keep us at the forefront of our industry. We're expanding fast, so this is quite a challenge! I'm certainly enjoying life at Sign-Up, and looking forward to the coming years!
