Wondering who works at Sign-Up.to? Here's an insight into some of our team members - sporadically updated whenever we can convince someone to write their bio or we get hold of a suitably embarrassing picture!
I started Sign-Up.to after being unable to find any software that made good permission marketing possible
for smaller businesses. Several years on and I'm still loving it.
As CEO I look after the strategic direction of the company as well as overseeing our marketing and, ultimately, everything that we do. I have a passion for business and love dealing with other entrepreneurs.
Out of the office, (on the rare occasions I leave) I'm a keen photographer and avid traveller.
I've led Sign-Up.to's operational and technical team since the company's inception in 2002.
As such I oversee all systems administration, support, application direction and feature development
to maintain our dynamic and user-friendly and online applications. I absolutely love working on fast
moving web technology, while being surrounded by this fantastic team.
Outside of work I like a spot of car maintenance on my BMW M5, and I'll admit I'm more than a little addicted to my PS3. I'm also a keen winter hiker, summer cyclist and all year track user. Combined with our total support pledge, this means I've assisted customers while in Cornwall, Scotland, India and at the Nürburgring!
I've been involved with Sign-Up.to for a few years now, but I officially "signed up" in June 2010 when Matt McNeill offered me the position of CTO. My background is in mobile messaging and applications, most recently as Lead Engineer for the European region at Yahoo! Mobile.
I'm responsible for translating our vision into technology which can delight our customers and keep us at the forefront of our industry. We're expanding fast, so this is quite a challenge! I'm certainly enjoying life at Sign-Up.to, and looking forward to the coming years!
Impressed with both the quality of the Sign-Up.to application and the company's ambitions,
I was delighted to join Sign-Up.to back in April 2008. Focusing on developing new business
and helping to build on our position in the marketplace, I have also been looking at ways in
which we can improve the services we provide to ensure our clients receive cutting-edge email
and mobile marketing technology.
Being from the coast I enjoy the outdoors and the sea air. I'm a keen fisherman and also like to keep fit through swimming, going to the gym and cross-country cycling. Emanating from my previous life as a chef (well okay, maybe just a couple of years whilst at school), I've a passion for food and enjoy rustling up hearty grub for friends.
As Support Team Leader I oversee the delivery of our total support promise on all channels: phone, email, live chat and face to face.
My team and I are here to ensure our customers get the absolute maximum from their digital permission marketing, so my duties range
from ensuring that any queries are answered as quickly as possible, to working with the development team to ensure any hard-to-use
tools or handy new features are top priority.
I've gathered years of both customer service and marketing experience from previous roles, and I enjoy the challenging but rewarding combination of catching up with customers and helping them out with their online marketing. I also oversee all marketing activity for Sign-Up.to; the variety makes coming to work very enjoyable.
Outside of the office I enjoy keeping active, I'm keen to set challenges and I would love to run the marathon. I hope to have completed the three peaks before the end of the year so watch this space.
Prior to Sign-Up.to I have been
working in recruitment for the last 5 years, unfortunately my company followed the
general trend and I was made redundant in August 2009.
I was drafted into Sign-Up.to to become an influential part of the sales team, focusing on new and existing business. My main aim is to use my extensive sales knowledge to build great relationships with our clients and to build Sign-Up.to to become the driving force in our industry.
Outside of work I enjoy pretty much any sport but mainly football which I play for two teams each week. I have a passion for stand-up comedy with which I used to do in my spare time many years ago. My main passion in life is my son Tyler who has not only made me a better person but has made me stronger in all that I do.
Prior to joining Sign-Up.to I have worked in various companies ranging from Dell computers to a
surveying company in London. I also spent 2 years living in Dubai (many, many years ago!) which
gave me the introduction to sales and gave me great exposure to working with different cultures and
personalities. I have some experience within email marketing having worked for Newsweaver a few
years back, and hopefully this will help me to get up and running quickly and start adding value to the
team. I am looking forward to being part of the team and helping Sign-Up.to continue to grow -
the atmosphere in the office is good and relaxed with everyone seeming to get on while doing their bit.
Being from Ireland I suppose it is to be expected that I am partial to the odd pint, and I basically watch any sport - I have even found myself watching professional angling! I enjoy cooking, reading and meeting up with friends for a catch up and a few drinks. I have also recently discovered camping and cycling and that is the new passion in my life (although this is likely to change on a monthly basis!).
Coming from a strong solution sales background I think I can spot a winner. Sign-Up.to is a fantastic
product and the company ethos makes this a good, relaxed place to work. I've worked in sales
all my life from the early days of Brighton telesales to helping develop and sell a successful Home
Computing Initiative (HCI) business in Bath. When Gordon Brown shut down the HCI I invested in
property, developing my first house in Guildford. Four years later and we've completed two houses
and a flat that's currently rented out. The arrival of my first son has taken my life in a new direction
which I hope will include a long and happy career at Sign-Up.to.
In my spare time I play a little rugby and keep fit with running and swimming. I love cooking, socialising and greatly enjoy poker and chess. I'm also an avid collector of music and films and one day hope to have time to actually watch and listen to everything!
Prior to Sign-up.to I studied Business Management at Brighton University.
I thoroughly enjoyed focusing on marketing in my final year and being able
to integrate my two passions - sales and marketing - means I couldn't be
happier to be starting my career with Sign-up.to as a Junior eMarketing
Consultant!.
Outside of work I like to keep busy and enjoy socialising with my friends, shopping, eating and drinking! I also enjoy the outdoors and the beauty of the countryside.
As an Account Manager I look after several clients including Prezzo and the Economist.
I also produce Sign-Up.to's support materials, which keeps me busy, but is something I really enjoy.
Before Sign-Up.to, I worked in field marketing for 2 years, in the FMCG sector.
I have a degree in Business Management which I received from the University of Reading in 2007.
Away from work I enjoy visiting new places and I'm a big fan of baking, so the Sign-Up.to team are regularly treated to cakes - chocolate ones being the most popular. The team recently told me that I've barely seen any good films, so I'm also currently trying to broaden my movie knowledge!
Having previously heard of Sign-Up.to's stellar reputation, I am delighted to be contributing to their customer
service offering.
My extensive experience in customer facing roles means that as an Account Manager I work my hardest to ensure
that every client gets the most from their Sign-Up.to account, however they decide to contact us.
Personally I'm into all things retro, I love to Lindy Hop (it's a type of swing dancing!) and I sing in a 50's style girl band. In total contradiction to that I also play a lot of video games and really enjoy sci-fi. I have a degree in Photography and am a truly awful cook.
Initially enlisted by Neil in 2007 to create our Woking based support department, I left in 2009
to explore Australia. Upon my return I was delighted to see that Sign-Up.to had continued to grow
and excited to rejoin the team. Having only managed 3 months of work in the outback I was
raring to get back into the swing of things.
In my spare time I hope to continue travelling and exploring different places but probably a bit closer to home! There is just so much to see and I am definitely used to the long journeys now, travelling for hours to get from A to B. I also still thoroughly enjoy socialising with my friends, watching movies, reading, attempting to cook and walking.
After graduating with a BA in Advertising and Design in the summer of 2010, and working within
various temporary roles since, I am pleased to turn over a new leaf for 2011 and finally become
part of an exciting team here at Sign-Up.to in the Tech-support clan.
With my background of experience in marketing from a variety of angles,
I am really keen to get stuck in to things on the ground level.
In my spare time I enjoy hanging out at the pub, bar, club or wherever with friends, kicking back and relaxing with a good film (or even an average one really...) and I haven't yet managed to escape the uni habit of watching entire series of my favourite TV shows in as few sittings as possible. Besides that I'm keen to hear all sorts of different music whether it involves raving all night, enjoying a gig or chilling at home.
My growing interest in online marketing recently led me to Sign-Up.to, and I'm really excited to have become part of the team. I've worked in many customer support roles over the last decade (has it really been that long?!) and I know first-hand how important a responsive support team is to a customer. I'm also looking forward to what I can learn from Sign-Up.to, such as HTML, CSS and eating at Choys.
My hobbies include writing, painting and the great, great outdoors. However, I've just returned from an extended 2-year holiday in America, so I think I'll be staying put for a while now! I like cats, have a Photography degree, and would rate my cooking skills at a fairly decent 8 out of 10.
After working for a bank for the last 4 years I found myself ready for new challenges. With over 10 years of customer service experience I found the Sign-up.to Support Assistant role very much to my liking - partly as a chance to use what I already know, but also as a chance to expand my knowledge of both marketing and programming. So far everyone in the office is very friendly and it's a great place to be. I'm really looking forward to working here (and no, they didn't make me say that!).
I have been a passionate skier since doing the 05/06 season in the French alps. I like anything between classic metal and rock music, preferable played loud while rushing down a black run at top speed! World cinema is another love of mine; I highly recommend Luc Besson and Akira Kurosawa or for closer to home laughs anything by Edgar Wright. A good film for me is one that fools me, as I always annoy my friends and family by guessing the twist ending or who the bad guy really is.
With years of experience of design and marketing in the publishing sector I am eager to delve into Sign-Up.to's realm of online social media and digital marketing. It will be my responsibility to create, distribute and style campaigns to provide you with successful results.
When I'm not hard at work I can usually be found skateboarding, drumming, drawing or sampling the finest of English ales. I love to travel and am an avid collector of retro video games.
New to Sign-Up.to and offices in general I'm excited to be starting with such an awesome company.
I've had years of experience in customer facing environments and am glad to be using those skills
in a growing industry in which I am very interested. This year I'm going to be learning a lot more about HTML,
CSS and JavaScript in my own time and I'm very happy to be in a company that is encouraging me to do so.
In my spare time I enjoy playing instruments such as guitar and banjo (I'm half American, I'm allowed), photography (I'm a Canon man, myself) and playing computer games. I also have an interest in old cars ond have been restoring a '39 Austin 8 for the last couple of years - it's finally on the road!
Now doing my second stint at Sign-Up.to, I just couldn't stay away!
I'm back to enhance and update Sign-Up.to's interface and bring it bang up to date and once that's done,
I'll be in charge of making sure it stays that way!
I have nearly 10 years of experience working with web technologies with a focus on usability,
user interface design and clean functional standards compliant mark up.
Prior to Sign-up I was a web developer at a leading online games company.
I'm a pretty typical geek. In my spare time I've been known to disappear into a dark room playing the latest video game for days at a time and I always have my DS or iPhone handy for long journeys. I'm also big fan of the cinema and go almost every week.
I started my foray into the online world while at University studying Electronic Engineering,
but it was always the computing side that fascinated me. I taught myself web design by making sites
for my family and friends and I can happily while away hours making images with Photoshop.
I'm really excited about getting involved in the Sign-Up.to interactive web technology!
Out of the office I am a Nintendo fangirl who loves Japanese culture. I also love to bake and was reigning 'Pie Master' for a year in the 'LJ London Pie Off'.
I started out in traditional Art & Design but soon found that a paintbrush was too limiting in a digital age.
I wanted more and more from my websites and found myself learning basic programming languages.
At University I developed my interest and learned how to make my ideas become reality;
I now strive to create the most attractive, intuitive and involving interaction.
You know you're a geek when shiny websites actually make you happy!
I'm all about maniacs with guitars so you'll probably find me listening to classic rock. I'm talking about the good stuff... the good old days when people experimented and really spoke through their music!
I've been working at Sign-Up Technologies now since 2004 and throughout our steady growth we've worked hard and fast to bring our existing products to market.
Formerly Sign-Up.to's Development Manager, I've now switched roles to that of Lead Architect and you could say we've reached the end of the beginning!
As we continue to grow and gather pace, it's important that we ensure our technology can keep pace - as Lead Architect it's my job to ensure our software architecture does!
When I'm not working hard, I'm spending time with my wife and kids. I enjoy learning and when I'm not studying for some kind of accreditation, my head can be found in a good book, anything ranging from software design to the latest James Patterson novel!
I have been involved in the online industry for over 10 years and having heard rave reviews about Sign-Up.to I jumped at
the opportunity to join the engineering team where my role is to help maintain and extend the product range.
When I'm not in front of a monitor I enjoy playing guitar badly, listening to music, reading, and spending time outdoors.
After working for several years in Italy as the main web developer in a small company in Turin I came to England a year and a half ago and started
working for a web agency building web applications and web sites. In August 2010 I received an offer from Sign-Up.to and at the end of September
I started working here. I really enjoy the work and the young and friendly team. My role is to maintain the system and implement new features.
During my free time I like playing the guitar, going to gigs and learning new programming languages. I also enjoy all kind of art and, of course, beer!
I was previously working as Head Of Digital Media at a leading Internet marketing company. I provided our clients and staff with the strategies and technical solutions to increase the effectiveness of their marketing campaigns. Coming from a strong background in design, development and internet marketing, I am looking forward to applying my skill set and advancing my knowledge within a highly skilled team.
Outside of work I enjoy playing with the latest technologies, cooking with friends, driving cars and enjoy yearly snowboarding trips with the boys.
Everything here is so amazing! Working at Sign-Up.to allows me to eat, drink and sniff whenever
I like, although it must be said that the best cuisine is normally to be found around Mr Huntly's
desk. I am proud to be our best footballer, I particularly enjoy rifling through the contents
of waste paper bins, and I just love interrupting meetings. I'm rather scared of Carol's
sneezing fits - they really hurt my ears!
Outside of work I'm a pretty typical hound, sniffing and licking my way through life. At weekends I enjoy nothing more than leaping into the nearest waterway, having a good swim and wrapping up the afternoon by locating the best-dressed human to drench while I shake off. Marvellous!
