Our history

We could give you the usual yada-yada about how Sign-Up.to was developed by an experienced management team, looking to build an exceptional product etc. etc. and it would be true, but boring!

We thought you might like to know a bit more about what we're really like, as that's what really counts!

Firstly, we're a small team (currently 23 of us and counting) working out of offices in Woking, Surrey. About half of us walk to work and we're only 25 minutes by train from Central London.

We're privately owned by the founders (Matt and Charles McNeill) and we've been profitable for over 5 years now.

We all love what we do, which is why we do it. Being small helps keep us focused and also means that we can get things done quickly - we add new features and improvements to our products practically every day.

In 2005 we were filmed for about 6 months by a Channel 4 film crew, who made a documentary on us (a nice one, not one of those 'When programmers go crazy...' style exposés). There's a clip from it here. If you really want to see the full thing, just ask.

Our work is based on a few core principles:

• Simple is best. We aim to continually refine our products to make them as intuitive and easy to use as possible.
• Web-based software rocks! With internet access so widespread, web-based tools are the future.
• Permission marketing is the way ahead. In such a crowded media environment, building a relationship with your audience is crucial. We build the tools to make this happen.
• Customer service is everything. Ultimately we're providing a service, not software. We'll always do everything we can to help our customers.
• Do good. We'll always try to do the best for our customers and to help out the community. We offer discounts for charities and every year we offer a completely free service to 5 charities voted for by the public.

We built Sign-Up.to because we saw the need for an easy to use, powerful permission marketing tool that came with the most important feature of all - great service. What we have today is the result of over 8 years of continuous development and improvement. And we're just getting warmed up.
