Meet the Sign-Up.to team
Wondering who works at Sign-Up.to? Here's an insight into some of our team members - sporadically updated whenever we can convince someone to write their bio or we get hold of a suitably embarrassing picture!
Matt McNeill - CEO
I founded Sign-Up.to to make great Permission Marketing available to companies of all sizes. I'm passionate about entrepreneurism and using technology to help businesses get an advantage..
As CEO I look after the strategic direction of the company and I'm where the buck stops. When I'm not in the office you'll find me traveling around the world, spreading the word about Sign-Up.to, visiting our clients and partners and speaking at conferences.
When I'm not working I'm a keen photographer - I've had my live music shots featured in quite a few newspapers and magazines. I'm also a bit of a fitness nut - in 2011 I came in the Top 10 of The Daily Telegraph's Fittest UK Company Directors competition.

Bio
Neil Mukerji - COO
I thoroughly enjoy the huge diversity of my role. Managing our day to day operations always presents interesting challenges and I'm lucky to be surrounded by such a great team to assist me.
Tell us a fact about yourself that no one else knows
Before my age started to rob me of my eyesight I was a bit of a marksman with .22 and .303 rifles. I like to think this will make me useful in the event of a zombie apocalypse.
Favourite cake?
Pretty much any cake made by Jo, but especially those involving Malteasers and cheesecake.
What is your worst nightmare?
Having to live more than 500 metres from a Waitrose.
Leanne Beale - Account Manager
As an Account Manager I look after a select group of clients and it's my responsibility to help them co-ordinate and grow their email, social and overall online activity. I also look after some of our key marketing communications including our written documentation, social media presence and blog activity.
Tell us a fact about yourself that no one else knows
I have an utterly terrible taste in films; give me a naff disaster film or chick flick and I'm happy.
If you could have any super power, what would it be and would you use it for good or evil?
If I could have a super power it would definitely be to fly so that I could avoid traffic and public transport and be able to visit far away places at a drop of a hat!
Favourite cake?
My favourite type of cake is my Nan's apple cake; it's an old family recipe from Dorset and she is the queen of cake making.
Daisy Lang - Account Manager
The best thing about my role is that it's so varied! The account management side of me gets to look after a select group of clients, helping them get the most from their email marketing. The marketing side of me gets to write blogs, manage social media and indulge in various other promotional activity for Sign-Up.to. The operations side of me gets to help drive our platform forward in awesome directions, making sure that we deliver a quality product and experience for all our users. Super.
Tell us a fact about you that no one else knows
I require 3 alarms (that I snooze around 5 times each) to get me out of bed on time each morning.
If you could take one item to a desert island what would it be and why?
Lipbalm, as I have something of a habit.
Clotted cream before jam?
No way. And I'm the only authentic Devonian in the office so you can't tell me I'm wrong.
Alex Barnes - Senior Media Co-ordinator
A typical day for me involves waking up to the smell of strong coffee before trawling through my emails and design posts. Headphones in tow, I will start putting together bespoke client work and keeping track of scheduled campaigns. The afternoon comprises of coding, design, catching up on emails and contacting clients who have requested work. I also try to practise any new techniques in the later half of the day before closing down my desktop and heading for a swim or skate.
What inspires you?
Signs, Bruce Willis, video games, logos, perseverance and drums
Favourite film quote?
"1.21 jigga watts", just for the pure lustre with which it's said!
What is your favourite font?
Century Gothic because it can be adapted to convey many different styles.
Robin West - Media Co-ordinator
Working on the Operations team as a Media Coordinator has been great. I'd have to say the best thing about my position is the diversity that my day to day work involves. This allows me to pick up new skills and learn great new things from the team around me. Also, we are quite close to the cake desk...
Got any hidden talents?
I was unfortunately born with a genetic condition that prevents me from accruing talent.
How about a favourite cake?
The BBQ sauce cake that Jo made me for my birthday was darn good.
What's your favourite font and why?
Anything on http://www.losttype.com/ - they are awesome!
Brenden Rawson - Managing Director - Australian branch
The best thing about being the Managing Director of the Australian branch is that I get to bring Sign-Up.to to Australia. I have the pleasure of meeting people and telling them of our fantastic products and the amazing team behind them.
Tell us something about you that nobody else knows
A fact that (hardly) no one knows is my first website was a Sandra Bullock fan site.
Do you have a favourite font?
My favourite font is 'Century Gothic' hands down. It's all class and somehow feels appropriate for every application.
What would your theme song be?
Although cliché. My theme song at Sign-Up.to would have to be 'Land Down Under' by Australian Crawl.
Rees Collins - Business Development Manager
Business Development Manager has many perks but for me I guess the best thing about my role is being able to travel and meet a lot of exciting prospects. There is nothing worse than being in a scripted sales role so having the freedom to be able to use my own sales techniques and methods is key and important to my success in this role and for Sign-Up.to.
What is the first thing you'd do if you won the Lottery?
I'd go back to the farmers wife's barn and find that needle I dropped as I feel I'm on a roll.

What would your circus act be?
To drink boiling water and whistle.
Marcus Dillon - Business Development Manager
The best thing about being a business development manager with Sign-Up.to is that I get to chat to lots of different people about their businesses. It's always interesting to hear what other people are doing and how various things are affecting them. It's also great to take them through how our system works and to demonstrate how it can benefit clients going forward.
You're to be stranded on a desert island. Which one item would you take with you?
A helicopter, so I could go and buy some hooch and snacks and then promptly return to my desert island.
If you could have any super power, what would it be and would you use it for good or evil?
Invisibility! I think it would be fair to say a healthy mixture of good and evil.
What's the first thing you'd do if you won the lottery?
Buy a helicopter and go to a desert island...
Tom Walmsley - Business Development Manager
The best thing about my role is working with all sorts of people from all sorts of organisations and consulting on their vastly different requirements for digital marketing. It's as changeable and dynamic as the clients and businesses I work with and keeps me learning and thinking to provide fresh strategy and advice. I feel I'm the sharp end of an extremely experienced and talented team here at Sign-Up.to which makes going out into the marketplace to uncover new opportunities and showcase our solutions an enjoyable challenge.
What is your inspiration?
The person who has inspired me most is my Dad, the person who keeps me going when the going gets tough is my baby son.
What's the first thing you'd do if you won the lottery?
The first thing I'd do if I won the lottery is throw a truly epic party for everyone... in a mansion, on an island, in Thailand.
What would your theme song be?
"Pop Looks Bach" by Sam Fonteyn or Ski Sunday to you and me.
Carol Peat - Head of Client Services
As Head of Client Services I oversee all business development and the delivery of our Total Support promise on all channels: phone, email, live chat and face to face. My team and I are here to ensure our customers get the absolute maximum from their digital permission marketing, so my duties range from ensuring that any queries are answered as quickly as possible, to working with the development team to ensure any handy new features are top priority.

My super power would be being able to fly. I'd use it to commute to work so I'd miss any traffic.
You're to be stranded on a desert island. Which one item would you take with you?
Providing I had food and water, I'd take my iPhone to a desert island. I'd update my status every hour about how lush it is!
Karen May-Heggie - Senior Support Assistant
A typical day as a Senior Support Assistant involves dealing with any questions that our clients may have. I help look after the other team members and make sure all the enquiries get answered as swiftly as possible. The role requires a lot of multi tasking which can be a juggling act but I'm used to it so take it in my stride!
What would you do if you won the lottery?
I would book an around the world trip.
If you could have any super power what would it be, and would you use it for good or evil?
My super power would have to be to fly and of course I would use it for good, there is no evil inside of me!
Clotted cream before jam?
Most definitely clotted cream before jam!
Vicky Stewardson - Support Assistant
I work in the support team, specialising in marketing strategy and email delivery. For me, the best thing about the job is that no two days are the same; I get to speak to all kinds of different businesses about their strategy and help them make the most of their online marketing.
Got any hidden talents?
Working in a customer service role, I'm well known for talking. It may or may not be that surprising therefore, that I can actually fit a tennis ball in my mouth!
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Definitely the ability to stop time so that I could have nice long lie-ins every day, and get time to get everything I need to done every day. Obviously the opportunity for creating mischief would be an excellent bonus!
What's your favourite font and why?
Rather than having a favourite font, I have a least favourite font. Nothing says: "I couldn't be bothered to change the font" quite like Times New Roman!
Paul Mackrow - Support Assistant
I work in a Total Support role. Support don't have targets for leads or sales, so with no such distractions, I feel that I can always do the best job helping our customers. However the best thing about my job would be the variety of questions; one moment I'll be talking about marketing strategy the next I'll be knee deep in HTML code! It makes every day different and I always feel like I'm learning.
What would your theme song be?
Hmmm, very tempted to steal Mario's theme song but I think I'll go for Linkin Park - In The End.
What is a fact about you that no one else knows?
No one knows where I was St Patrick's day 2001 (including me!).
What's your favourite quote from a movie/novel?
"Remove the head, or destroy the brain" - Shaun of the dead (funny link and sound advice in the case of a zombie apocalypse).
Robyn Osborn - Support Assistant
The best thing about being a Support Assistant is everyday brings something different. I'm constantly learning new things and developing my knowledge with every day that passes. Dealing with different sorts questions and queries keeps me on my toes. I love being part of a creative environment and love having that 'point to point' contact with our clients.
If you won the lottery, what would you do?
Buy a biscuit factory... I sure do love biscuits!
Worst nightmare?
Being stuck in a box with spiders and eyeballs.
If you could have any super power, what would it be and would you use it for good or evil?
If I had a super power I would have the ability to shape-shift, that way I could be David Attenborough's hair and go to all the really cool places he goes and when it gets abit windy I can pop off and be a lemur - they look like they have fun.
Stuart Wallace - CTO
Being the Sign-Up.to CTO entails selecting, planning, and implementing new technologies to ensure that our online applications deliver the best possible experience to our clients around the world. A key part of this involves ensuring that the engineers in my team have all the tools and knowledge they need to deliver world-class software for all our users. Occasionally I even get the time to write some code!

What would your theme song be?
"Sussex by the Sea", because that's where I grew up. In Sussex. Not actually by the sea, though.
Nick Branson - Lead Architect
As Lead Architect I'm responsible for the software architecture of all our major projects. I work with other functions to gather requirements, scope and priorities work on new features, and respond to questions and escalations.
Being responsible for the software architecture requires a certain amount of governance on my part. I continuously encourage and enforce best practice in the engineering group to improve the quality of our core libraries and project code bases.

What's the best thing about being a developer?
All you need to work is a laptop and a broadband connection!
Clotted cream before jam?
From the perspective of someone who enjoys a midnight cream tea with cola, yes.
Tell us a fact about you that no one else knows
Well, I could tell you, but then I would have to kill you.
Jesse Baker - Senior Interaction Engineer
I get a huge amount of satisfaction in designing the interfaces through which people use Sign-Up.to. Knowing that people are using the things that I design and build is great motivator - there is always some way in which I can improve our offering. I also really like the variety of what I do as I have a hand in a lot of different projects.
Any hidden talents?
It's not strictly a talent (more like a problem) but I have an amazing ability to buy far more video games than I play. I have loads of them still in the shrink wrap.
What's the first thing you'd do if you won the lottery?
I'd probably buy a lot of video games but I'd really like to do a festival world tour, travelling the globe listening to awesome music.
If you could have any super power, what would it be and would you use it for good or evil?
I'd love to be able to teleport as I hate waking up early and commuting. Because sloth is a deadly sin, I suppose technically I'd be using it mostly for evil.
Jo Franchetti - Interaction Engineer
My role gives me the perfect balance of techy-goodness and design-fun. Some days I'll spend coding, some days illustrating. It's very satisfying taking an interface right through from design to fully functional.
Any hidden talents?
I love to bake, cakes, pies, you name it, I'll bake it!
What would your theme song be?
'Ready, willing and able to rock and roll all night' - Fats Domino (or any other song I can lindy hop to!)
Favourite type of cake?
Lemon lemon lemon!
Malcolm Smith - Interaction Engineer
I love making shiny websites, I particularly enjoy crafting enjoyable user experiences. My strengths lie in programming and building intuitive user interfaces, I tend to work with JavaScript and the latest web languages.
What, would you say, is your inspiration?
Coffee, cake and classic rock (I'm talking maniacs with guitars, the good old days when people experimented).
How about your worst nightmare?
Waking up in 'The only way is Essex'.
Clotted cream before jam?
Jam, clotted cream, more jam!
